FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions List
When is the best time to hire your firm?
As early as possible, particularly when a new center or expansion is contemplated. We can help you develop a road-map for all the participants to follow.
I already have an Architect/Engineer, but he isn’t familiar with the needs of data centers. How can we all work together?
There are many fine firms capable of mechanical and electrical design, but they may not be specialists in data centers. We work with them as their knowledgeable resource or with you as your representative and translate your needs into the language of the construction industry.
We want to move our data center to another location, possibly a new stand-alone building. What should we do first?
The first step in the process would be to have DGA visit your existing site and meet with those that would be involved. Through the use of planning guides and assessments, DGA would put together a few concepts that we feel would meet your needs.
What would a new 10,000 sq. ft. building cost?
As you know, this is a fairly open ended question, but one which DGA is familiar with. Data collected from previous projects and input from you will determine how much should be budgeted.
Why should we use raised flooring?
Flexibility is one of the more important aspects of a computer room. Buy using raised flooring, you can easily grow into a space in an orderly fashion. It is easy to change the cooling air flow and electrical power, as well as the routing of network cables. There is very little, if any additional cost incurred in using raised flooring as opposed to conventional construction.
